I’m Elizabeth. The inspiration for the name of this blog was someone who told me that I was an strange mix of flavors. Pickles and peppermint, I like to think. He remains correct. I am someone who loves the baby Jesus (and the full-grown one) but feel like people who talk about him aren’t talking about the him I know. Someone who loves Pop-tarts but believes that yoga is the best form of exercise. Someone who loves giant dogs and the children that belong to me and the boy I married who is likely going to be nominated for sainthood based on that act alone. (In the blog, I call the children Helicopter and Cricket so if you search for them, you won’t find them! Clearly, they got to pick the names!) Someone who tries, in her day job, to help communities to become strong enough so they need to rely on God alone.
I am just tripping along trying to figure it out as I go. And hopefully being amusing and spreading some love along the way. And despite my adoration of big dogs and big ideas, I am starting to realize that truth and movement are in the small. Who knew? Small things matter. And the more I live the more I know that grace is the most important thing. And there is grace enough for all of us.
One summer, in Mexico, I remarked that, while one of my friends wrote long and wonderful journal entries, my thoughts were more like Post-Its. I hope that you will enjoy these little Post-Its. Luckily, these Post-Its won’t get all crumpled and stick to your shoe like the little yellow ones, but hopefully they will stick in your thoughts.
Thank you for reading. Know that I already adore you!
By the way, here are a few of my favorite things just because!
